News:
Our Miami Community Center is truly a community showplace now that we have accomplished an "extreme makeover". This was made possible by funding from the Harrington Foundation, M.K. Brown Foundation, David & Nona Payne Foundation, TransCanada USA Services Inc., Cimerax Energy, Miami Community Development, the Miami Chamber of Commerce as well as generous contributions from local businesses, numerous individuals and fund raising projects.
The facade has been totally redesigned and updated and a parking pad has been poured at the rear of the building for handicapped access. The interior of the building has been completely refurbished including walls, ceiling, new lighting, and flooring. The kitchen has been reconfigured and all new appliances and cabinetry installed. The restrooms have been relocated and enlarged. All of these changes have made the facility compliant with handicapped requirements.
We are proud of this facility and grateful to all of those who have helped to make this project possible.
We are anxiously awaiting the completion of the Roberts County Courthouse Restoration. Major funding provided by the Texas Historical Courthouse Preservation Program of Texas Historical Commission.
The project began in the spring of 2009. A dedication will be held when the work has been completed which is expected to be in the summer of 2011.
